The Role
- Support pupils with SEMH needs, behaviour barriers and emotional regulation
- Work with pupils who may present as withdrawn, anxious, defiant, dysregulated or disengaged
- Provide 1:1, small-group and in-class support
- Help pupils follow routines, access learning and rebuild trust with adults
- Use calm, consistent boundaries rather than confrontation
- Support behaviour plans, pastoral interventions and classroom reintegration
- Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, pastoral staff and external professionals
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience with SEMH, behaviour, mentoring, youth work or SEN is strongly preferred
- Psychology, Criminology, Education or related graduates encouraged to apply
- Must be patient, emotionally mature and able to stay calm under pressure
- Confident setting boundaries and following school behaviour systems
- Able to build relationships without taking challenging behaviour personally
- Reliable, professional and able to commit for the full academic year
