What the Role Involves:
- Delivering targeted one-to-one and small-group History intervention sessions across KS3 and KS4
- Supporting pupils working below expected levels or preparing for GCSE History examinations
- Helping pupils develop extended writing, source analysis, and historical argument skills through structured sessions
- Tracking individual pupil progress and feeding back regularly to the class teacher and Head of History
- Building motivating, trusted relationships with pupils to develop their confidence and enthusiasm for the subject
What the School is Looking For:
The ideal History Academic Mentor will hold a 2:1 or 1st Class degree from a top 30 UK university, ideally in History or a closely related Humanities discipline. Previous child-centred experience in a UK educational setting is highly valued. The school is seeking a passionate, articulate, and proactive History Academic Mentor with strong communication skills and a genuine love of the subject.

Salary and Contract Info:
- £450 to £530 per week, pro rata to term time only
- Full-time, long-term contract from September 2026 to July 2027
- Term-time only
- Potential for future teacher training or extended contracts following a successful placement
