What the Role Involves

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a named pupil with additional needs throughout the school day
  • Implementing strategies outlined in the pupil’s EHCP under SENDCO guidance
  • Supporting the pupil to access the curriculum, engage with peers and participate positively in school life
  • Maintaining accurate records of progress and wellbeing and feeding back to the class teacher and SENDCO
  • Building a consistent, trusted and nurturing relationship with the pupil and their family

What the School is Looking For

The ideal 1:1 Support Assistant will hold a 2:1 or 1st Class degree from a top 30 UK university. Previous experience supporting children with additional needs in a UK school or educational setting is highly valued. They are seeking a patient, warm and dedicated 1:1 Support Assistant with strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to making a meaningful difference to one child’s educational journey. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK, as the school is unable to offer visa sponsorship.

Salary & Contract Info

  • £100-£110 per day
  • Full-time, long-term contract from September 2026 to July 2027
  • Term-time only
  • Potential for extended contracts or teacher training pathways following a successful placement
