Are you passionate about helping young people who have struggled in mainstream education find a fresh start?

A specialist Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) school in Orpington is seeking a resilient, patient and committed Behaviour Teaching Assistant to support students who may experience challenging behaviour, emotional regulation difficulties or barriers to learning.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who can build trust, maintain clear boundaries and motivate young people to engage with education. • Help pupils manage frustration, develop social skills and make positive choices.
  • Work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to provide consistent support.
  • Encourage attendance, participation and a more positive attitude towards education.
  • Contribute to a safe, structured and supportive school environment.

Who We're Looking For
We're keen to hear from:

  • Experienced Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants and Behaviour Mentors.
  • Graduates interested in psychology, education, criminology or youth work.

  • Candidates with experience supporting vulnerable young people or managing challenging behaviour.
  • Individuals looking to start a career in education.

You'll need to be:

  • Resilient and patient when faced with challenging situations.
  • Relationship-driven, able to build trust while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Calm and consistent, even when students struggle to regulate their emotions.
