Are you a Team Teach trained professional looking to make a real difference to a young person's education? A supportive secondary school in Barking & Dagenham is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to support a Year 8 male student with SEMH needs from September.
This rewarding 1:1 Learning Support Assistant role is ideal for someone with previous experience supporting students with social, emotional and mental health needs. As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will build a positive relationship with one student, helping them to regulate their emotions, engage with learning, and achieve success both inside and outside the classroom.

Qualifications and Experience
- Team Teach trained (essential to this role)
- Experience supporting young people with SEMH or behavioural needs
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations
- Capacity to build positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries
- Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will implement behaviour support strategies and use your Team Teach training appropriately when required. The successful candidate will play a vital role in promoting engagement, independence, and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day.
