SEN Science Teacher – PRU Location: Newham, East London
Salary: £180–£250 per day
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Start Date: September 2026

A specialist PRU in Newham is looking for an enthusiastic and resilient Science Teacher to join their team on a long-term basis.
This is an opportunity to teach Science in a small, supportive environment, where building relationships and understanding individual barriers to learning are just as important as delivering the curriculum.
The Role You will:
- Teach Science across KS3/KS4, adapting content to individual needs
- Plan engaging and accessible lessons
- Differentiate learning for pupils with additional needs
- Build positive relationships and re-engage pupils who have struggled in mainstream
- Manage behaviour using calm, consistent and restorative approaches
- Support pupils to rebuild confidence in their academic ability
- Monitor progress and adapt teaching accordingly
- Work closely with support staff and the wider pastoral team
The Ideal Candidate We're looking for a qualified Science Teacher who is passionate about working with young people who require a different approach to education.
You will be resilient, patient and confident managing challenging behaviour, whilst still maintaining high expectations for pupils.
Experience within a PRU, AP, SEMH or SEN setting would be advantageous, but teachers from mainstream backgrounds with the right attitude are encouraged to apply.
