that is looking for a passionate and adaptable English Teacher to join their team.
The school supports pupils with
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
and provides a structured, nurturing environment where pupils are supported to develop academically, socially and personally.
This is an excellent opportunity for an English specialist who wants to develop their SEND experience or an experienced SEND teacher looking to join a supportive specialist setting.
The role involves:
Teaching
English across the school , adapting the curriculum to individual needs Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated English lessons Supporting pupils with ASD to develop their literacy, communication and confidence Breaking learning down into accessible and achievable steps Creating a calm, structured and positive classroom environment Building strong and trusting relationships with pupils Working closely with Teaching Assistants and specialist colleagues Monitoring progress and contributing to individual learning targets Using creative and practical approaches to engage pupils in English Supporting pupils' wider communication, independence and personal development We are looking for someone who:
Has strong
English subject knowledge Holds QTS or has relevant teaching experience within education Has experience working with, or a genuine interest in working with,
ASD/SEND pupils Can adapt teaching and communication to individual needs Is patient, consistent and able to build positive relationships Has high expectations while recognising individual barriers to learning Can manage behaviour calmly and positively Works well as part of a wider specialist team Is passionate about helping young people develop their confidence and independence What the school offers:
