Are you a graduate interested in Speech & Language Therapy, Psychology, Education or SEND and looking to gain practical experience working with children? This Speech & Language Assistant role in a Bromley primary school offers the opportunity to support pupils with their communication, language and interaction skills within a nurturing school environment.
As a Speech & Language Assistant , you will work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils develop their ability to communicate effectively and access learning. You will provide targeted support through individual and small-group activities, helping children develop their vocabulary, listening skills, comprehension and confidence when communicating with others.
Full Academic Year | £500£550 per week

Your responsibilities will include: Supporting pupils with speech, language and communication activities.
Delivering individual and small-group intervention sessions.
Helping pupils develop vocabulary, listening, comprehension and conversational skills.
Supporting children who have difficulties communicating their needs or expressing themselves.
Using structured activities and resources to encourage communication and engagement.
Working closely with teachers and support staff to reinforce strategies throughout the school day.
Monitoring pupils' engagement and progress and providing feedback to relevant staff.
The successful Speech & Language Assistant will: Hold a 2:1 degree or above , ideally in Psychology, Linguistics, Speech & Language Therapy, Education or a related subject.
Have strong A-Levels or equivalent academic qualifications.
Have experience working with children, either professionally or through relevant voluntary experience.
Have an interest in communication, child development and SEND.
Be patient, observant and confident building positive relationships with children.
Have excellent communication skills and the ability to follow structured intervention programmes.
Be considering a future career in Speech & Language Therapy, Education, Psychology or a related field.
