We are seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join a supportive primary school in Harlow on a temporary basis, starting ASAP.This is an excellent opportunity for a Caretaker who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming school environment and enjoys being a key part of the wider school community.
The Role
Caretaker The successful Caretaker will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day maintenance, security and general upkeep of the school site.
The Caretaker will: Ensure the school premises are safe, secure, clean and well maintained .Carry out general maintenance, repairs and basic DIY where required.
Complete routine health and safety, security and site checks .Assist with the preparation and upkeep of classrooms, communal areas and outdoor spaces.
Report and respond to maintenance and site-related issues promptly.
Support contractors and external professionals when required.
Help ensure the school site is welcoming and well presented for pupils, staff and visitors.
Respond appropriately to any site-related emergencies or urgent issues.
Who We Are
Looking For We are keen to hear from an experienced Caretaker , particularly someone with previous experience working as a Caretaker within a school setting . Experience in a similar premises, maintenance or facilities role will also be considered.
The ideal Caretaker will be: Reliable, dependable and proactive.
Practical and confident carrying out general maintenance and basic repairs.
Organised and able to work independently.
Approachable and professional when working with pupils, staff, contractors and visitors.
Committed to maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming school environment .Previous experience working as a Caretaker in a school setting is desirable , although candidates with relevant premises, maintenance or facilities experience are also encouraged to apply.
