About the School

This Enfield secondary school is rated Good by Ofsted and has built a strong reputation for academic rigour and evidence-based teaching. The Mathematics department is a genuine strength of the school, delivering a well-sequenced curriculum across KS3 and KS4 with consistently improving outcomes. The school operates clear, consistent behaviour frameworks that create focused, purposeful learning environments - giving every Maths Academic Mentor the structure needed to work effectively with pupils who need targeted support. Staff are well-supported, collaborative planning is embedded into departmental culture, and the school's commitment to raising attainment is evident at every level.

What the School Offers

As a Maths Academic Mentor, you will work alongside classroom teachers and the wider Maths department to deliver targeted, small-group, and one-to-one support to pupils who are working below expected levels or preparing for GCSE examinations. You will use assessment data to identify areas of weakness, plan focused intervention sessions, track pupil progress over time, and feed back regularly to the class teacher and Head of Department. Building trusting, motivating relationships with pupils will be at the core of your work as a Maths Academic Mentor in this school.

What the School is Looking For

  • Can demonstrate a clear ability to explain mathematical concepts accessibly and confidently to secondary-age pupils
  • Have some experience working with young people in an educational, tutoring, or mentoring capacity within a UK setting
  • Are comfortable working within established school behaviour and safeguarding frameworks
  • Are available to start immediately and commit to the full term-time contract through to July 2026
  • Are legally entitled to work in the UK - the school is unable to provide visa sponsorship

Please note this role does not require Qualified Teacher Status, but candidates with QTS or relevant teacher training experience are welcome to apply.
