A welcoming school in Hillingdon is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic KS2 SEMH Teacher to join their team from October. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced KS2 SEMH Teacher to make a genuine difference to pupils who may have previously found mainstream education challenging.
As a KS2 SEMH Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching a small class of approximately 1015 pupils, made up of children from Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5. The successful KS2 SEMH Teacher will understand that building positive relationships is at the heart of successful teaching. You will need to be someone who can create a safe, supportive and engaging classroom environment where pupils feel valued, understood and motivated to attend school.
The school is looking for a KS2 SEMH Teacher who can combine strong teaching skills with patience, consistency and a good sense of humour. You will need to be confident adapting lessons and approaches to meet individual needs while maintaining high expectations for behaviour, learning and personal development.
KS2 SEMH Teacher Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the KS2 curriculum.
- Create a calm, structured and supportive learning environment.
- Build strong and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Adapt teaching and learning to meet individual SEMH needs.
KS2 SEMH Teacher Essential Requirements
- QTS recognised in the UK.
- Previous experience working in a SEN setting.
- Experience teaching pupils with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
- Experience teaching at KS2 level.
- A patient, calm and nurturing approach.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
Trial Day KS2 SEMH Teacher
As part of the recruitment process, shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a trial day as a KS2 SEMH Teacher. During the trial day, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to take responsibility for the class for the day, delivering lessons and experiencing the school environment first-hand.
