Head of PE | The Role
• Lead the PE department and drive standards across the curriculum • Teach PE across KS3-KS5, with a clear focus on girls' PE • Plan, deliver and monitor high-quality PE lessons • Support participation, progress and confidence across sport and fitness • Lead fixtures, enrichment, extra-curricular sport and wider PE provision • Work closely with senior leaders to support curriculum, assessment and pupil outcomes • Promote high expectations, positive behaviour and strong pupil engagement
Head of PE | Candidate Requirements
• Qualified PE Teacher with QTS • Strong secondary PE teaching experience • Experience teaching and supporting girls' PE • Ability to lead staff, curriculum planning and departmental standards • Confident managing changing-room supervision, safeguarding and pupil welfare expectations • Female applicants only: this post has a genuine occupational requirement due to the nature of girls' PE delivery, changing-room supervision and safeguarding responsibilities • Commitment to supporting the ethos and values of a Catholic secondary school
