Ribbons & Reeves are working with a specialist ASD school in Epping that is looking for a passionate and adaptable English Teacher to join their team.
The school supports pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and provides a structured, nurturing environment where pupils are supported to develop academically, socially and personally.
This is an excellent opportunity for an English specialist who wants to develop their SEND experience or an experienced SEND teacher looking to join a supportive specialist setting.
The role involves: Teaching English across the school , adapting the curriculum to individual needsPlanning and delivering engaging, differentiated English lessonsSupporting pupils with ASD to develop their literacy, communication and confidenceBreaking learning down into accessible and achievable stepsCreating a calm, structured and positive classroom environmentBuilding strong and trusting relationships with pupilsWorking closely with Teaching Assistants and specialist colleaguesMonitoring progress and contributing to individual learning targetsUsing creative and practical approaches to engage pupils in EnglishSupporting pupils' wider communication, independence and personal developmentWe are looking for someone who: Has strong English subject knowledgeHolds QTS or has relevant teaching experience within educationHas experience working with, or a genuine interest in working with, ASD/SEND pupilsCan adapt teaching and communication to individual needsIs patient, consistent and able to build positive relationshipsHas high expectations while recognising individual barriers to learningCan manage behaviour calmly and positivelyWorks well as part of a wider specialist teamIs passionate about helping young people develop their confidence and independenceWhat the school offers: A welcoming and supportive specialist ASD environmentSmall classes with strong Teaching Assistant supportA collaborative and experienced staff teamSpecialist SEND training and professional developmentThe opportunity to develop your expertise in autism educationA rewarding role where you can see the direct impact of your teachingYou don't necessarily need previous experience in an ASD school.
