A welcoming and inclusive school in Chelmsford is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated KS2 Teacher with a strong Literacy specialism to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who enjoys working with smaller groups and is passionate about delivering a personalised approach to learning, with a particular focus on developing pupils' literacy skills.

The Role

  • Teach a small nurture class within Year 7.
  • Take full responsibility for planning, assessment and pupil progress.
  • Deliver engaging, personalised lessons with a strong focus on Literacy.
  • Support pupils to develop their reading, writing, communication and comprehension skills.
  • Provide strong pastoral support and build positive relationships with pupils.
  • Help pupils transition successfully into secondary school.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the wider school community.
  • Have a normal teaching timetable with 20% PPA.

  • Be a qualified teacher with experience teaching KS2 or lower secondary.
  • Have a strong Literacy specialism and passion for developing pupils' English skills.
  • Be nurturing, patient and confident supporting pupils in a smaller setting.

  • Be passionate about personalised learning and pastoral support.
  • Have strong classroom management and communication skills.
