PRU Behaviour Mentor | Pupil Referral Unit | Islington | Immediate Start Are you experienced working with challenging behaviour, SEMH or young people who have struggled within mainstream education ? A specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Islington is looking for a resilient and engaging Behaviour Mentor to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who can build genuine relationships with young people, understand the reasons behind challenging behaviour and provide the consistency and boundaries needed to help pupils re-engage with education.

The PRU Behaviour Mentor Role Support pupils with SEMH, behavioural and social needs Build positive, trusting relationships with young people who may have experienced difficulties in mainstream settings Provide 1:1 and small-group mentoring and behavioural support Help pupils manage emotions, regulate behaviour and develop positive coping strategies Support pupils to re-engage with learning and make progress Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and senior leaders Maintain clear and consistent boundaries while taking a restorative approach to behaviour Support pupils both inside and outside the classroom What We're Looking For Previous experience working with challenging behaviour, SEMH or young people at risk of exclusion Experience in a PRU, AP, SEMH school, youth work, residential care or similar environment is highly desirable Calm, patient and resilient personality Confident managing challenging situations without escalating them Strong communication and relationship-building skills Someone who can be both supportive and firm when necessary A genuine commitment to helping young people who may have struggled in traditional education Why This Role?
