Assistant Headteacher (Head of College) Specialist SEND School South East London September 2026 A highly respected independent specialist SEND school in South East London is seeking an exceptional Assistant Headteacher (Head of College) to lead its Post-16 provision from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the strategic direction of an expanding College supporting students aged 16-19+ with Autism and a range of additional learning needs within a nurturing, therapeutic environment.
This role would suit an ambitious SEND leader ready to take the next step into senior leadership, or an experienced Assistant Headteacher looking to lead and develop an innovative Post-16 provision.

You'll line manage College staff, drive teaching and learning, lead transition planning, develop accreditation and employability opportunities, and work closely with parents, local authorities and external agencies.
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you'll play a key role in shaping whole-school improvement and maintaining outstanding outcomes for young people with SEND.
Assistant Headteacher (Head of College) What the School is Looking For The successful candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have significant experience teaching and leading within SEND.
Previous curriculum leadership or senior leadership experience is essential, alongside a strong understanding of Post-16 pathways, EHCPs and inclusive education.
