KS2 Teacher for Secondary School - Braintree
September 2026 A successful secondary school in Braintree is seeking an experienced
KS2 Teacher with a strong literacy background
to join their team from September 2026. This is a unique opportunity for a primary-trained teacher to support
Year 7 pupils who are struggling academically , providing targeted intervention to help them make progress and confidently access the secondary curriculum.
About the School The school is committed to ensuring every pupil receives the support they need to succeed. With a strong focus on academic achievement and inclusion, the successful KS2 Teacher will play a key role in closing literacy gaps and supporting pupils during their transition into secondary education.
The Role - As a KS2 Teacher, you will:
Deliver targeted literacy and academic intervention to Year 7 pupils Support pupils with gaps in reading, writing, spelling, grammar and comprehension Use assessment to identify areas for development and track progress Build pupils' confidence, independence and engagement with learning Work collaboratively with secondary teachers and pastoral staff Provide structured, engaging lessons tailored to individual needs What the School is Looking For - The ideal KS2 Teacher will:
Hold British QTS or have completed UK teacher training Have strong KS2 teaching experience within a UK primary school Have a proven background in literacy and supporting pupils with gaps in learning Be confident adapting teaching to individual needs Have high expectations alongside a nurturing and encouraging approach Be legally entitled to work in the UK
