A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Epping Forest is seeking a caring and enthusiastic EYFS Class Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team on a temporary basis, starting ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced LSA or someone with a strong background working with young children to support pupils within the Early Years Foundation Stage.

The successful EYFS Class LSA will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to support children's learning, development and wellbeing, helping them build confidence, independence and the skills they need for a positive start to their education.

The Role

  • Support children across the EYFS with their learning, development and wellbeing
  • Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging and age-appropriate activities
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required
  • Encourage children's communication, language and social development
  • Support children's personal, social and emotional development
  • Promote independence, confidence and positive behaviour
  • Assist with classroom routines and daily activities
  • Help maintain a safe, welcoming and stimulating learning environment
  • Support children with additional or individual learning needs
  • Observe children's progress and provide feedback to the class teacher
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with children
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and the wider school team

  • Have previous experience working with children in an EYFS, nursery or primary school setting
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting young children's learning and development
  • Be nurturing, patient, caring and enthusiastic
  • Have a good understanding of the EYFS curriculum and early childhood development
  • Be confident providing one-to-one and small-group support
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be able to build positive relationships with children and staff
  • Have a proactive and flexible approach to supporting the class teacher
  • Have high expectations while maintaining a warm and supportive approach
  • Be legally entitled to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available
