Are you a proactive and dedicated individual seeking a rewarding role as a SEND Teaching Assistant supporting pupils with Complex Needs and SEMH? An excellent opportunity has arisen at a supportive partner school in Cambridge for a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant position starting in January or February 2026.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have a range of Special Educational Needs, particularly those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties. You will support pupils both in small groups and on a one-to-one basis within the classroom.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the planning, preparation and delivery of tailored learning activities.
- Adapting your approach to meet the unique needs of individual pupils.
- Monitoring and encouraging progress in both academic and personal development.
- Building valuable experience working directly with pupils with complex needs and behavioural challenges.
This role is well suited to aspiring SEN Teachers, Educational Psychologists or Clinical Psychologists.
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of a 2:1 degree from a UK university.
- Prior experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN or SEMH needs, is desirable.
- A strong commitment to pupil welfare and development.
