BSL Support Teacher Specialist SEND School Location: Camden Town , London Salary: £180£250 per day Contract: Full-time, long-term Start Date: September 2026 Agency: Ribbons & Reeves Are you a BSL-qualified teacher or experienced BSL practitioner passionate about supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing pupils to achieve their full potential? We are working with a specialist SEND school seeking a dedicated BSL Support Teacher to join their team on a long-term basis. This role would suit a teacher with experience supporting Deaf/BSL-using pupils , or a highly skilled BSL practitioner looking to develop their teaching career within a specialist setting. The Role You will work closely with teachers and the wider SEND team to ensure pupils can fully access the curriculum and develop their communication, academic and social skills . You will: Provide specialist BSL communication support across the school Support pupils to access and engage with the curriculum Adapt learning materials to meet individual communication needs Work alongside teachers to promote inclusive classroom practice Support pupils' language, communication and social development Build strong, trusting relationships with Deaf and hard-of-hearing pupils Contribute to personalised learning and EHCP outcomes Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, families and other professionals The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will have strong BSL skills and experience working with Deaf or hard-of-hearing children and young people. You may be a BSL Teacher, Teacher of the Deaf, BSL practitioner, specialist TA or experienced SEND professional with a strong understanding of Deaf education. A recognised BSL qualification (ideally Level 3+) and experience working within an educational setting would be highly desirable.
