SEND Teaching Assistant | Brentwood | September 2026
Are you a recent graduate looking to gain hands-on school experience before pursuing a career in teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy or child psychology?
We are seeking an enthusiastic and resilient graduate to join a welcoming Primary School in Brentwood as a SEND Teaching Assistant from September, supporting children with a range of additional needs including autism, ADHD and SEMH. Trial days are taking place ASAP.
About this SEND Teaching Assistant role…
- Gain valuable school-based experience supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD and SEMH.
- Work closely with experienced SEND professionals, including Educational Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists and SENDCOs.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support across the primary school setting.
- Support pupils both academically and socially, helping them to develop confidence, independence and positive relationships.
- Excellent opportunity for graduates considering careers in education, psychology, therapy or social care.
We are looking for graduates who…
- Have achieved, or are on track to achieve, a 2:1 or First-Class degree in a relevant subject.
- Have experience working with children or young people through tutoring, mentoring, youth work, coaching, care or voluntary work.
- Are patient, proactive and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
- Want to build long-term experience within a primary school environment.
- Can commit full-time from September and are available to trial immediately.
