We are looking for an experienced and proactive IP Consulting Engineer or IP Architect to lead/support technical sales of IP networking solutions within the UK&I and across the wider EMEA region. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in pre-sales activities and a strong network of contacts within the UK and Europe. You will provide the deep technical knowledge needed by the account teams within the territory.

The primary role will be to lead all presales functions such as defining the IP solution and network architecture, as well as responding to RFx where appropriate, supporting or leading Systems Engineers in such activities. Excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. You will work with the sales leaders to identify revenue opportunities within an identified group of named accounts and geographic territory and will help drive into new accounts using your technical knowledge of trends within the industry.

The successful candidate will work closely with Ribbon Product Management and Marketing to review and plan for customer requirements. They will coordinate and lead lab trials, interface with customers and Ribbon engineering as issues arise, monitor bug fixes, and track feature development in code releases. Ensuring a strong relationship between Ribbon and the assigned account is crucial. They will provide ongoing technical presentations to various organizations within the territory to uncover future opportunities and strengthen the business relationship.

A strong working knowledge of network Automation solutions is also desirable, as is a good working knowledge of Optical networking solutions.

Education and Experience
  • Appropriate degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in the Telecom industry with a proven track record of selling and partnering with Systems Integrators and Tier 1 and Tier 2 Service Providers.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the telecommunications industry.
  • Proven pre-sales support experience and established relationships in the industry, particularly within the UK and Europe.
  • Good understanding of the telecommunications industry, market, and products.
  • JNCIE / CCIE Certifications or equivalents, including work experience.
  • Experience designing carrier-grade communication networks from high-level network architecture.
  • Design experience of IP/MPLS Packet Networks (Layer 3) L3VPN, EVPN, Segment Routing, RSVP-TE, LDP, NETCONF/YANG, IS-IS, OSPF, & BGP.
  • Familiarity with MEF Services, IPoDWDM, O-RAN, Mobile Networks, Cloud Technologies, Mobile Xhaul, Fixed and Mobile Convergence, SDN Automation, and Orchestration.
  • Work experience with one of the following vendors will be an advantage: Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, etc., or System Integrator working with these vendors.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with customers at all levels.

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom and be fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
