Ribble Recruitment is assisting an established insurance brokerage with the recruitment of a Commercial Account Handler based in London. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Commercial insurance professional to join a growing brokerage, providing high-quality service and technical support to a varied Commercial client portfolio.
The Role
As a Commercial Account Handler, you will play a key role in supporting Commercial clients and ensuring their insurance needs are met. The role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage policies accurately in line with regulatory requirements. You will work closely with clients, underwriters, and internal colleagues to deliver tailored insurance solutions and maintain high standards of service.
Responsibilities
- Client Relationship Management — Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for enquiries and requests
- Policy Management — Handle policy enquiries, mid-term adjustments, and renewals. Ensure accuracy of policy documentation, endorsements, and certificates of insurance
- Liaison — Liaise with underwriters to negotiate and secure suitable coverage terms
- Risk Assessment and Analysis — Analyse client risk profiles to identify gaps and opportunities for improved coverage. Remain up to date with industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes
- Compliance and Regulation — Ensure all policies comply with industry regulations and contractual obligations. Keep clients informed of regulatory changes and their potential impact
- Documentation and Reporting — Maintain accurate and well-organised electronic client files. Prepare reports relating to clients' insurance portfolios
- Business Development Support — Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling insurance products. Support wider business growth initiatives alongside colleagues
- Knowledge, Training and Quality Assurance — Maintain strong knowledge of Commercial insurance products and best practice. Participate in ongoing training and professional development. Conduct peer quality checks to minimise errors and improve efficiency
- Additional Duties — Undertake other reasonable duties as required to meet business needs
Essential Experience and Skills
- Proven experience within Commercial insurance in an Account Handler or similar role
- Strong knowledge of insurance products, underwriting principles, and industry regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Proficiency in Acturis and Microsoft Office
- Commitment to ethical business practices and compliance standards
