Ribble Recruitment is assisting a well-established insurance brokerage with the appointment of an Accounts Handler in Personal Lines. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Personal Lines professional to join a growing business where you will play a key role in supporting clients and ensuring their insurance needs are met through high-quality service and technical expertise.

The Role

You will act as a key point of contact for clients, working closely with underwriters and internal colleagues to deliver tailored insurance solutions. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of personal lines insurance products and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Relationship Management
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for enquiries and requests
    • Understand clients' insurance needs and provide appropriate advice and solutions
  • Policy Management
    • Handle policy enquiries, mid-term adjustments, and renewals
    • Ensure accuracy of policy documentation, endorsements, and certificates of insurance
    • Liaise with underwriters to negotiate and secure suitable coverage terms
  • Risk Assessment and Analysis
    • Analyse client risk profiles to identify gaps and opportunities for improved coverage
    • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes
  • Compliance and Regulation
    • Ensure policies comply with industry regulations and contractual obligations
    • Keep clients informed of regulatory changes and their potential impact
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate and well-organised electronic client files
    • Prepare and issue reports relating to clients' insurance portfolios
  • Business Development Support
    • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling appropriate insurance products
    • Support wider business growth initiatives alongside colleagues
  • Knowledge, Training, and Quality Assurance
    • Maintain strong knowledge of insurance products and best practice
    • Participate in ongoing training and professional development
    • Conduct peer quality checks on documentation to minimise errors and improve efficiency
  • Additional Duties
    • Undertake other reasonable duties as required to meet business needs

Essential Experience and Skills

  • Strong knowledge of insurance products, underwriting principles, and industry regulations
  • Proven experience within Personal Lines insurance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Acturis and Microsoft Office
  • Commitment to ethical business practices and compliance standards
