Level 3 Early Years Teaching Assistant – Workington

Location: Workington, Cumbria

Start Date: September 2025

Contract: Full-time | Term-time only

Pay: £90 – £110 per day (dependent on experience)

A friendly and inclusive Primary School in Workington is looking for a passionate Level 3 Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team from September 2025.

The Role

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) with learning, play, and routines
  • Deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities alongside the class teacher
  • Provide individual and small group support tailored to children’s developmental needs
  • Encourage communication, independence, and positive social interaction
  • Contribute to observations and assessments to track progress
  • Help maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Holds a Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education, Childcare, or equivalent
  • Has recent experience working in a nursery, Reception, or other EYFS setting
  • Understands the EYFS curriculum and child development
  • Brings a warm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting young learners
  • Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with staff and parents

  • Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification (essential)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply – support provided)
  • An up-to-date CV with relevant qualifications and experience
  • References from recent childcare employment or employment
