About the Role

Are you a strong relationship manager? Are you passionate about producing engaging events and programmes? Join our dynamic RIBA Membership Experience North Team to create and deliver an engaging regional programme that supports our members and grows our membership. We’re seeking a driven and resourceful Regional Engagement Partner to support our North West members and help bring our Engagement Plan to life. Based in Merseyside or Greater Manchester, you’ll work closely with our Regional Director, forging strong relationships and delivering exceptional experiences for current and future members. This is a role for a strong communicator — someone who thrives on building meaningful relationships and isn’t afraid to think creatively. You’ll be out and about visiting practices, chatting with members online and in person, and promoting all that RIBA has to offer. You’ll play a key part in identifying new membership opportunities and collaborating with our brilliant Membership Development team to grow our reach. From stakeholder engagement to planning and promoting events across multiple platforms, every day in this role is different. Strong event/project management experience is desirable, as you’ll plan and deliver our RIBA Regional Awards in the North West and you will be responsible for supporting member activities across the region. You’ll be confident influencing at all levels, with experience in negotiating and driving engagement in a professional setting. We work in a hybrid model, with a mix of home-based working and time spent in our Liverpool office (duration flexible). The role involves extensive travel across the North West and flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends, depending on what activity is happening in the region. Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships and external partnership working to support member engagement and increase membership.
  • Work collaboratively to support RIBA Branches, Special Interest and Task & Finish groups to drive member engagement and recruitment activity.
  • Develop and deliver an activity plan of meetings with Chartered Practices and Members and prospect members (online and face to face).
  • Plan, develop, and implement a programme of activities in Schools of Architecture and for architecture students.
  • Use regional knowledge, research and insight gathering to identify opportunities to enhance the value for membership and reach prospect members.
  • Plan and deliver RIBA North West Awards with support from Regional Director.

What are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will possess experience of working within dynamic, fast-paced environments and be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, be high on initiative and committed to working collaboratively with colleagues and key stakeholders. An astute communicator with significant proven ability to network at all levels, able to consult and build good relationships with internal and external senior stakeholders, with the ability to influence, persuade and motivate. A collaborative team player who is happy to support colleagues in meeting team deliverables across the whole of the North region. Confident in using a range of digital platforms and systems including CRM databases to target and record activities. Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines and balancing conflicting priorities. Demonstrate a commitment to Diversity and inclusion. Has a passion and understanding of the culture of architectural practice and architects, their role, and the skills of architects. Event Management experience is desirable.
