About the Role
This role leads the delivery of high‑profile, impactful international programmes that promote architecture and engage RIBA members, stakeholders and built environment professionals across four global regions. Collaborating with our architect member network outside the UK in the International Chapters and emerging groups, it supports an excellent membership experience for RIBA’s 8,000 international members and contributes to retention, recruitment and long‑term growth.
You will manage the full programme lifecycle from concept to evaluation, delivering high‑quality, value‑for‑money initiatives such as networking events, learning programmes, exhibitions, debates and symposia. The role also shapes the Future Architects Global programme, engaging students, emerging architects and architecture schools, while managing budgets, timelines and delivery with international colleagues in the Gulf, Hong Kong and China.
Success in this role requires strong communication, relationship‑building and project‑management skills, with the ability to work independently across cultures, time zones and competing priorities. A solid understanding of marketing, communications and social media is essential, as is experience working with volunteers and partners. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact and support the international growth and global reputation of RIBA.
There will be some out of usual hours working to accommodate meetings in different time zones.
What are we looking for?
- Experience of facilitating networking and sharing through a range of physical and virtual mechanisms across a global context.
- Understanding of marketing tactics and social media communications to grow international communities.
- Proven track record of planning, managing and delivering programmes and campaigns from a remote base.
- Experience of senior stakeholder management and excellent relationship building and developing strong networks with internal and external contacts.
- Able to deliver high quality outputs to deadlines in a fast‑paced environment while managing multiple demands whilst maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience of identifying, setting up, motivating and managing international groups and networks with responsibility for associated programme to drive engagement.
- Ability to identify new opportunities for initiatives and to spot trends within the international membership and share with colleagues across the organisation.
- A creative approach with an interest or experience of working in architecture and the built environment.
