About the Role: The RIBA Collections is RIBA’s four‑million‑strong collection of architectural drawings, photographs, manuscripts, books, models and associated artefacts. It is one of the very oldest, largest and richest collections of its kind anywhere in the world. The collections are a world‑class research resource and are at the heart of RIBA’s exhibition and learning programmes. The Library and Collections Systems team is responsible for the data and systems for the RIBA Library and Collections. This role is primarily responsible for migrating data into the new collections management system and developing new data processes with the wider Library and Collections team.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute migration of library, museum or archival data into the new Collections Management System.
- Collaborate with the Library and Collections team to design and implement new data workflows.
- Maintain accuracy and quality of data throughout the migration process.
- Provide support and training to staff on new data tools and processes.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Library/Museum or Archives or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a data‑related role in an archive, museum or library.
- Strong knowledge of AACR2, RDA, MARC, Spectrum and ISAD(G) cataloguing standards and protocols.
- Experience with Collections Management Systems (CMS) or other data management systems; experience with Axiell Collections preferred.
- Accuracy and attention to detail when dealing with records and data management.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise and self‑manage workloads.
- Attention to detail and ability to work quickly and accurately.
- Good experience of team and collaborative working with colleagues and organisational stakeholders.
