My client, a leading international architectural practice known for its collaborative culture, technical excellence, and people-first approach, is seeking an experienced Associate / Senior Associate to join its growing Data Centres team. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an Architect with extensive experience in large-scale commercial delivery, particularly within the data centre sector. You will play a key role in leading projects, managing teams, and driving both technical excellence and client relationships across complex, high-value schemes.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for project leadership, team coordination, and delivery oversight, while also contributing to strategic direction and business growth within the sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of large-scale data centre projects across multiple stages
  • Oversee multidisciplinary teams and coordinate architectural and consultant outputs
  • Take responsibility for technical delivery, including QA/QC and construction documentation
  • Provide strategic direction on design, delivery, and project execution
  • Manage client relationships and act as a key point of contact throughout projects
  • Lead project programmes, resource planning, and delivery performance
  • Mentor and support senior and junior team members
  • Resolve complex technical, coordination, and construction challenges
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practice
  • Contribute to project profitability, efficiency, and commercial success
Requirements
  • ARB registered Architect (RIBA Chartered preferred)
  • 10+ years’ experience in commercial architecture
  • Extensive, demonstrable experience in data centre design and delivery (essential)
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership or project lead role
  • Strong track record delivering projects across all RIBA stages
  • Advanced Revit proficiency (strongly preferred)
  • Strong technical expertise in construction detailing and coordination
  • Experience managing project teams, consultants, and client relationships
  • Strong commercial awareness, including project performance and delivery
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong understanding of buildability, construction methods, and delivery strategy
  • High attention to detail with a strong QA/QC focus
