Nick Shipp Architects are seeking an Architect to join its team in Bath, UK. You will be involved in a range of projects across the residential and bespoke leisure/commercial sectors, including new residential, rural enterprise development, education and tourism sector work.

About the role

The role will involve working across RIBA Stages 1–5, from early concept design through to developed design and technical coordination to administration of contracts on site. The role is offered on a full time basis, however could accommodate short term flexibility if required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the development of design proposals from concept through to technical design
  • Preparing planning drawings, presentation material and technical packages
  • Producing 3D models and drawings using ArchiCAD
  • Supporting project coordination and communication with consultants and clients
  • Contributing to design development, visualisation and documentation

Skills and experience:

  • Part 3 architect
  • Proficiency in ArchiCAD
  • Experience working on medium to large scale projects including new build, extension and conversion work
  • Exposure to bespoke leisure or commercial projects desirable
  • Experience working across RIBA Stages 1–5
  • Strong design, drawing and presentation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong English language skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small studio environment

Software environment

The studio operates on a Mac-based platform using: ArchiCAD (primary BIM/CAD platform), Twinmotion for rendering and visualisation, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office.
