Architect / Architectural Technologist – 5+ Years Qualified

My client is seeking an experienced and talented Architect or Architectural Technologist to join their team working on bespoke private residential projects across the UK.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, creative and motivated individual looking to develop a rewarding long-term career within a highly respected design practice specialising in high-quality traditional and classical architecture.

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ post‑qualification professional experience and will be confident contributing across all RIBA work stages. Experience in traditional residential technical detailing is essential, with high-end bespoke residential project experience highly desirable.

Candidates should be capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams, with a strong understanding of construction detailing, UK regulations and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to projects across all RIBA stages
  • Produce high-quality technical and design information
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants and wider project teams
  • Deliver projects within agreed timeframes and budgets
  • Assist with technical detailing and construction documentation
  • Support the delivery of bespoke residential and heritage-focused projects

Key Requirements

  • Qualified Architect or Architectural Technologist with 5+ years’ professional experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of residential construction and detailing
  • Experience working on bespoke private residential projects
  • Thorough understanding of UK planning policy, Building Regulations and construction methods
  • Good knowledge of building contracts
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Strong design ability with excellent attention to detail
  • Practical and proactive problem‑solving approach
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel within the UK

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with high-end traditional or classical residential projects
  • Working knowledge of traditional and classical architectural principles
  • Experience using ArchiCAD (training can be provided)

About the Role

My client is an established and highly regarded architectural practice specialising in traditional and progressive classical architecture and contextual urbanism. Their portfolio includes exceptional country houses, townhouses, heritage restorations, listed buildings, commercial projects, residential masterplans and urban design schemes throughout the UK and internationally.

No prior experience in classical architecture is required, although an interest in the field would be advantageous.
