My client, an award-winning AJ100 architectural practice, is seeking a talented Architect or Architectural Technologist with 2+ years’ post-qualification experience to join their growing team working on conservation, classical, and traditional build projects across the residential, public building, historic building, and new build sectors. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected, design‑led studio renowned for delivering beautifully crafted architecture that combines traditional design principles with technical excellence.

The role would suit a creative and technically capable individual looking to further develop their career within a collaborative and supportive environment. The successful candidate will ideally have strong technical detailing experience and a genuine interest in conservation, heritage, and traditionally inspired architecture. You will contribute across multiple RIBA stages and should possess a solid understanding of construction detailing, UK building regulations, and project delivery processes. The position would suit someone who is confident working both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, with a proactive attitude and excellent attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the design and technical delivery of conservation, classical, and traditional architecture projects across multiple RIBA stages
  • Produce high-quality technical detailing and drawing packages
  • Coordinate project information with consultants, contractors, and wider design teams
  • Support planning, technical, and construction phase project delivery
  • Ensure compliance with UK building regulations, conservation requirements, and construction standards
  • Work collaboratively within a design‑led studio environment
  • Assist in maintaining project quality, programme, and technical accuracy

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years’ post‑qualification professional experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction detailing and building methods
  • Experience working across a range of RIBA stages
  • Understanding of UK planning policy, building regulations, and construction processes
  • Strong design, technical, and problem‑solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable working independently and within collaborative teams
  • Willingness to travel within the UK when required

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working on conservation, heritage, or traditionally designed projects
  • Knowledge or appreciation of classical and traditional architecture
  • Experience using ArchiCAD
