Founded 15 years ago RIASA is the worlds only educational football programme to offer a UK/US dual accredited degree. Our student/athletes are from the age 18-24 years old. When attending RIASA we provide a bespoke timetable blending their football and degree programme which is based on the American education system. We pride ourselves on offering opportunities to play with clubs in Europe and the UK, internships, showcase opportunities and unique study experience.

Full job description

Role Overview:

We are looking for a motivated, experienced, and inspiring Head Coach to lead our coaching team and deliver high-quality football sessions. The applicant must hold a minimum UEFA coaching License. You will be responsible for maintaining coaching standards, through mentoring and developing our coaches and developing our student/athlete squads which align with our academy strategies. You will liaise with the academic staff to discuss cross programme details and student welfare, alongside working closely with our operations manager to confirm weekly schedules, fixtures and academy offerings. Provide feedback, information and evaluations to assist in players progression. To attend meetings with coaching staff, management and academic staff across the academy. To attend academy events across the 12 month period which include but are not limited to ID events, showcase matches, summer camp, European tour and promotional tours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead High quality football sessions
  • Supervise and support coaching staff
  • Create session plans
  • Develop individual coaching plans for players where required
  • Liaise with academic staff to discuss student welfare and performance.
  • Liaise with the club secretary to discuss and set fixtures
  • Help manage player progression into development teams/squads
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and ready for use
  • Presentations for code of conduct and other academy student/athlete information
  • Assist in the recruitment process with zoom calls and video approval of players
  • Assist in organising academy events

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum of FA A license coaching
  • Proven experience of coaching
  • Experience in an academic environment
  • Computer literate
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing or mentoring other coaches
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A positive, energetic, and professional approach
  • Willing to travel abroad for recruitment camps
  • Willing to work unsociable hours (evening and weekends)
  • Valid enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one)
  • First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Willing to drive company vehicles (minibuses)

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a football academy
  • Experience of working in an educational environment
  • Previous use of the coaching manual or similar
  • Degree in sport related subject
  • Ability to engage with prospective students and parents regarding the programme schedules
