    Edinburgh

Join Simpson Studio, an award-winning architecture and design practice, shaping exceptional spaces across the UK and beyond.

Simpson Studio is seeking a talented and ambitious architect to join our Edinburgh team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-end
residential and commercial projects, delivering detail-driven, beautifully crafted designs. We are a multidisciplinary studio with offices in Edinburgh and London, overseeing all design elements in-house, from architecture and interiors to bespoke joinery. Our holistic approach ensures a seamless process and outstanding results.

    The Role
We are looking for a highly skilled architect with experience in high-end residential projects. The ideal candidate will be driven, detail minded, and reliable, with the ability to multi-task and manage complex workflows.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead projects across all RIBA stages (0-6), ensuring seamless delivery.
    • Liaise confidently with clients, consultants, and contractors.
    • Oversee technical design and detailing, ensuring compliance with UK building regulations.
    • Manage and coordinate work on-site, including contract administration (JCT experience preferred).
    • Work collaboratively within a close-knit team, contributing to the studio’s creative and technical expertise.

    What We’re Looking For

    • 3-5 years’ experience as a qualified architect, ideally in high-end residential projects.
    • Strong project-running experience, from concept through to completion.
    • Excellent design sensibility with a keen eye for detail.
    • Proficiency in Vectorworks, Adobe InDesign, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office.
    • Strong time management and ability to handle multiple projects.
    • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

    Why Join Us?
We offer a supportive and creative studio environment where team members have the opportunity to shape the future of the practice. As a key part of our Edinburgh team, you’ll have real influence on project direction and studio growth.

    We offer:

    • Competitive salary (based on experience and ability).
    • Private health insurance for all employees.
    • Hybrid working – a minimum of three days in the office, with remote flexibility.
    • Flexible working hours – choose your 8-hour workday between 7am-7pm.
    • Annual performance-based bonus.
    • Professional development – funding for training and ARB membership fees.
    • Referral bonus – earn a percentage for successful project referrals.
    • Regular team events & socials.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career within a dynamic, design-led practice. If you're passionate about architecture, design, and delivering outstanding spaces, we'd love to hear from you.
