We are seeking a Project Architect with a minimum of 5 years post Part 3 experience who enjoys job ownership and the delivery of competent drawing packages. We would also consider candidates who could demonstrate comparable qualifications and experience.
The role is project delivery / job running and ownership of projects from inception to completion, supported by our wider team. Project values can vary from £300k to £30m but are mostly within the £2m - £6m value range.
We undertake Staff Reviews bi-annually to provide our staff an opportunity to discuss their career aspirations with Senior Management, with a view to assisting our staff to reach their full potential. In addition, there is continued opportunity within the Practice for career progression.
We are a mid-sized practice currently numbering 22, located in a high quality and recently remodelled open plan design studio with excellent staff facilities. Although based in Glasgow city centre, we work across the UK and while the majority of our projects are in the West of Scotland, we currently have projects located from the south coast of England to the north of Scotland.
We are still small enough to feel that we are a family. Our staff turnover is very low which has seen us grow organically from 4 to 22 in 12 years. Our recruitment has often been by staff introducing former colleagues and to date all promotions have been internal. We feel that this underscores one of our key business aims: to be an ethical employer, where people work hard but enjoy what they do within a supportive office environment while achieving a good work / life balance.
We currently offer:
- Competitive Salaries - and we look forward to an open discussion on what is currently “competitive”.
- The position would be office based with occasional flexibility to work from home. We provide all staff with a laptop to facilitate flexible working.
- Standard hours are 9.00 – 5.30pm but we are flexible and seek to accommodate individual needs with regard to childcare and travel.
- We operate an optional shortened weekly lunch to allow us to finish at 2.30pm on a Friday, which has proved to be very popular with our team.
We offer the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting projects. We provide design services on circa 250 live projects per year with a healthy mixed bag of residential developments, elderly care, schools, retirement living, student living, hotel & leisure, industrial & commercial, listed building conversions, one-off private houses, domestic extensions and steadings.
We predominantly use AutoCAD; however, we have several Revit projects and experience of both would be useful. We can offer Revit training in-house.
