Rhubarb Recruitment in London is recruiting an experienced Chef Manager to oversee kitchen operations at a Community Cafe and Conference Centre in Kensington, South London. The site offers simple British café food Monday to Friday 7 am – 3 pm, catering to centre users and walk-in customers from the surrounding Westminster area. The café serves English breakfasts, hot breakfast rolls, beans on toast, sandwiches, paninis, home-made salads, jacket potatoes, fish & chips, fish cakes, cakes and pastries, etc. In addition, the kitchen caters to lunchtime buffets for their busy conference centre guests. Conference lunch buffets include sandwich platters, hot samosas, spring rolls, mini quiches, fruit platters, salads and cakes.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work a 35-hour week, alongside an established and happy catering team. This role offers the opportunity to lead a small, dedicated team, deliver exceptional food services, and contribute to the success of a long-standing and bustling community café and conference centre.

The Chef Manager will be responsible for the effective running of the Centre’s kitchen, café and catering operations, including staff and volunteer management, preparing and cooking food, ordering all F&B and non-F&B supplies, managing a busy café kitchen and providing conference catering services, meeting income and expenditure targets, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation.
