A national retailer is looking for a head of retail, to join on an initial six month contract until the end of 2026. The organisation has gone through a significant period of change, with a restructuring of its operations and senior leadership team. As a result, this newly created role has been adding to the senior management structure.

The head of retail will oversee all retail operations functions including facilities, licensing, ecommerce, stock and logistics and the portfolio of shops in the London area. Initially, the primary focus on the role is about creating and setting best practice across the organisation, whilst providing excellent leadership to area managers, store managers and functional teams. There are plans to embark on a store opening programme, once the basics have been fully implemented across the store estate.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in successfully leading and expanding a retail business. You’ll have developed a strong commercial acumen and will have a proven track record of achieving sales targets from a high street retail environment. You’ll have experience leading a large retail team and have exceptional leadership and team management skills. Ideally, you’ll also have knowledge and experience of developing and leading an ecommerce offer. You’ll be a strategic thinker with the ability to drive the retail vision across the organisation through your operational plans.

The salary for the role is £80,000, pro-rata the length of the contract. The role offers hybrid working, along with a generous pension and flexible working within core hours of 10am and 4pm.
