There are an increasing number of valuable, interdependent pieces of work within the Colleague domain that require co-ordination. The Payroll technology team are responsible for the payroll applications that we use to pay colleagues across the globe. There are a variety of programmes in progress at any one time in order to step change how we pay and reward colleagues. These range from very large, complex multi-year programmes to smaller discrete projects.
This role will have responsibility for the delivery of the iterative capabilities within the Payroll Technology programme, co-ordinating with partners across Technology & the business. Working with other TPMs, Product, Engineering and third parties to help deliver the roadmap, in particular ensuring new pieces are correctly understood (in terms of scope, value, cost, resources and design), prioritised and resourced appropriately by the right forum of decision makers and consistently tracked. Strategic alignment & dependency management are critical skills to deliver this.
Some examples of this work include the review & potential implementation of capabilities into Distribution and iteration of existing capabilities within our Stores.
You will be responsible for:
- Delivering complex programmes with multiple business and technical risks that will impact the success of key Tesco business priorities.
- Establishing new or improving existing delivery methodology to deliver the programme goals.
- Initiating and shaping programmes with ambiguous scope and uncertain delivery approach.
- Creating and tracking a plan to deliver the programme goals, including the technical implementation plan.
- Understanding trade-offs in software delivery, using experience and influencing skills to drive consensus with the Engineering and Product teams to obtain the best value and solution.
- Foreseeing potential risks and issues, establishing a process, facilitating discussion and managing escalations.
- Acting on opportunities to adopt trends and new concepts in programme and product delivery.
- Understanding a technical architecture to foresee the impact on dependencies, delivery timelines and implementation plans.
You will need:
- A proven record of accomplishment in delivering technology and/or infrastructure; having done so across multiple teams in multiple geographies.
- Experience of building credible relationships and influencing senior management & leadership teams.
- Strong Project, Stakeholder & Programme management skills.
- Excellent communication & influencing skills.
