As a Service Maintenance Technician - Build at Tesco across Reading, High Wycombe and Slough areas, you will play a vital role in ensuring our stores remain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues alike. You will be part of a skilled team responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of systems and equipment, helping to keep our operations running smoothly. Your work will directly impact the shopping experience of thousands of customers every day. You will use your technical expertise to identify and resolve issues efficiently, always prioritising safety, compliance, and quality.

This is a hands-on role that requires a proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high standards. You will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring all Tesco sites are a safe and functioning environment for customers and colleagues.
  • Following the planned work schedule to achieve first time fix, maximising productivity, and effectiveness.
  • Delivering high quality work standards across the estate, with year-on-year improvement.
  • Communicating and building effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Working closely with team members, sharing best practice and knowledge.
  • Using problem-solving skills and innovation to identify and develop solutions for key and common issues.
  • Owning tasks at a local level through to completion/resolution, informing key stakeholders through the process, where required.
  • Owning your development through progression of the maintenance pathway.
  • Driving your own monthly 1-2-1 schedule with your line manager.
  • Using mobile devices; phone and tablet, to drive best practice in work completion and updates.
  • Using the business systems to drive best practice in WON reporting to support asset lifecycle management.
