We’re looking for a Project Surveyor to look after planned works and larger projects from procurement to delivery, making sure they’re delivered safely, on time and on budget. You’ll deliver planned and reactive programmes of work and improvement programmes for preventative and cyclical maintenance. You’ll evaluate, specify, and organise repairs, condition and improvement surveys and inspect dwellings, buildings and land, assessing and diagnosing defects. You’ll make sure that work is carried out safely and that it meets building and health and safety regulations, making sure project targets are met and works are delivered to a high-quality standard by carrying out regular site inspections.
We’re looking for someone with experience of building maintenance, specifications and using diagnostic techniques to support decisions, and who has experience of managing planned works including cyclical decoration. You’ll have managed contractors and consultants to successfully complete projects and be able to look at buildings from a holistic perspective.

- Deliver planned and reactive programmes of work and improvement programmes for preventative and cyclical maintenance, making sure they are safe, on time and delivered to a high standard.
- Evaluate, specify, and organise repairs, condition and improvements surveys/inspections of dwellings, buildings, and land, assessing and diagnosing defects.
- Produce programme and project reports, initiating and updating project documentation, appraisal and quality assurance, contract administration and monitoring progress and quality on site.
- Deliver all technical elements of allocated projects/programmes including site inspections and surveys, specifications, contract documentation, and schedules of work.
- Make sure contractors and/or competent persons meet their statutory responsibilities in the safe management of works on site, reviewing risk assessments and method statements.
- Monitor and manage contractor and in-house performance, making sure project targets are met, work is delivered to a high-quality standard and refer persistent failures, achieving high levels of customer and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Consult with customers and stakeholders to make sure the service achieves customer satisfaction targets, implementing innovative approaches to understand and meet different customer needs.
- Support the monitoring and reporting of project expenditure and costs against budgets, providing accurate reports to ensure effective project budget management, including profiling, forecasting and risk logs, and value for money.
- Inspect work to make sure it meets building and health and safety regulations, keeping accurate records.
- Reconcile and settle final accounts and valuations, agreeing and paying interim valuations for major works, dealing with contractual disputes, extensions of time and variations and issuing relevant certification.
- Resolve queries and complaints quickly and accurately so we can deliver first-class service for every project, home and customer, every time.

- Managing contractors and consultants to successfully complete projects.
- Managing a project team, undertaking technical inspections, producing tender briefs, pricing documents, and managing projects, ideally in a social housing environment.
- Looking at buildings from a holistic perspective, considering energy performance and future uses.
- Technical qualification in building surveying or a related technical subject, to degree level or equivalent.
- Accredited by Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors or Chartered Surveyor/Institute of Building.
- Full valid UK driving licence.
