Ysgol Cambrian is a brand-new 3–19 Additional Learning Needs school, created to deliver an ambitious, inclusive and inspiring learning experience for pupils with a wide range of needs. As we build our school from the ground up, the temporary Governing Body is seeking an exceptional Assistant Headteacher (Wellbeing) to join our Senior Leadership Team and play a pivotal role in shaping a nurturing, safe and inclusive school culture.
This is a unique opportunity for a committed and compassionate leader who is passionate about wellbeing, inclusion and ensuring that every learner is supported to thrive emotionally, socially and academically. The Assistant Headteacher (Wellbeing) will work closely with the Executive Headteacher to provide both strategic and operational leadership across the school.
As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the post-holder will lead the development, implementation and evaluation of a whole-school wellbeing strategy for pupils aged 3–19. This will include emotional health and wellbeing, behaviour and relationships, safeguarding, attendance, inclusion, and the promotion of positive mental health for pupils and staff. The role includes a 40% teaching commitment, enabling the successful candidate to model outstanding, trauma-informed classroom practice, maintain strong relationships with pupils, and support staff development through coaching and professional learning.
