37 hours per week - Child and Family Teams
Vacant positions in the following locations: South - Ty Elai, Williamstown
Grade 11 (£42,839) Social Worker – Entry Level (up to 3 years) and registration with Social Care Wales.
Grade 12 (£46,142) Experienced Social Worker – minimum of 3 years post‑qualifying experience and registration with Social Care Wales.
All Social Workers who work in these teams are eligible to receive a £2,250 market supplement, paid pro‑rated on a monthly basis, regardless of length of post‑qualifying experience. The supplement will be reviewed in May 2027.
About The Team
We are looking for enthusiastic, committed social workers who have the passion and drive to make a positive difference in children’s lives. Our Child and Family Teams specialise in care planning for children requiring care and support, including cases subject to child protection planning, PLO, Court, and adoption work. The service focuses on risk management to minimise escalation and reduce the need for PLO, family separations, and care proceedings.

Eligibility and Application
We welcome final year social work students who will qualify later this year. Selected students may be employed as temporary Assessor Care Managers until registration is completed, with flexible hours to suit individual needs. Those applying for experienced positions must prove registration with Social Care Wales and 3 years of post‑qualifying experience. Protecting children and vulnerable adults is a core responsibility of all appointed staff. The successful applicant will also undergo an enhanced disclosure and barring service check.
