Location: Unit 1 Maritime Industrial Estate, Pontypridd

Hours: 37 hours per week

Job Overview

You will help increase the number of foster carers for children in the local area by providing outreach, information and support to potential carers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with local people interested in becoming foster carers, answering questions and sharing real experiences of children in care.
  • Build relationships and communicate in a clear, easy‑to‑understand manner.
  • Be motivated, organised and methodical, providing a positive first impression via phone, email or in‑person meetings.
  • Operate flexibly – working from home, office or face‑to‑face in the local area.
  • Support the local Foster Wales team by following up fostering journeys and organising social events and engagement activities for all local authority foster carers.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience within social services, or having been a foster carer, care‑experienced or a member of a fostering family.
  • Highly motivated, organised and methodical.
  • Excellent listening and relationship‑building skills, able to engage people from all backgrounds.
  • Ability to provide ongoing support and organise social events.
