Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is pleased to offer a Team Practice and Performance Manager position within Social Care Services.

Dewi Sant Health Park, Albert Road, Pontypridd, CF37 1LB

We currently have an opportunity for a Team Practice and Performance Manager within the Taf Ely Community Mental Health Team. The team works with adults with severe and enduring mental disorders and a level of mental distress that pervades across a person’s life so that their function is significantly affected. The team also works with adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use difficulties and covers the Taf Ely area of Rhondda Cynon Taf.

The team is based in Dewi Sant Health Park, Albert Road, Pontypridd, CF37 1LB, and is a multidisciplinary team comprising Principal Social Workers, Social Workers, Community Psychiatric Nurses, Health Care Support Workers, Occupational Therapists, Psychiatrists, and Psychologists. It is co-located with the Independent Living Service, which covers the entire Rhondda Cynon Taf area.

The Social Worker will join an experienced and supportive team. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic manager to effectively lead the Social Work team and support the wider team.

The successful candidate will work closely with health and other partners to provide a quality service to those requiring support from secondary mental health services within Taf Ely. They should understand the strengths and challenges of multidisciplinary working and be capable of delivering an effective and efficient service to the public. A strong commitment to practice learning and education within adult social care is expected, and contributions to these areas are encouraged.

You must possess a recognized professional Social Work qualification and be expected to be registered and maintain your registration as a \'Social Worker\' with Social Care Wales upon appointment.

All practitioners have opportunities to influence the development of our work and are supported by a strong, experienced senior management team at strategic and operational levels.

We recognize that Social Work is professionally and personally challenging, requiring skill, commitment, and enthusiasm. We offer a dedicated in-house Learning and Development Centre to support practitioners at all levels in maintaining their skills and Continuing Professional Development.

Our Social Care Departments have benefited from significant recent investment, allowing us to strengthen preventative services and increase capacity at the frontline.

You will benefit from an improved career pathway for Social Work professionals, a comprehensive employee reward package, flexible working arrangements, Leisure for Life membership discounts, and access to schemes like Cycle to Work and Let’s Connect technology purchase schemes.

We expect our practitioners to have a good understanding of the Social Services and Wellbeing Act and relevant legislation, stay updated on emerging issues, and have experience or interest in the relevant discipline. Candidates should be committed to anti-oppressive practice and possess strong assessment, communication, and planning skills.
