Supporting CLA Team

Grade 11 at £41,511 per annum- Entry Level up to 3 years and registration with Social Care Wales.

Grade 12 at £44,711 per annum- Experienced Social Worker ~ minimum of 3 years post qualifying experience and registration with Social Care Wales.

About The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed social worker who has the passion and the drive to make a positive difference to children’s lives and can help motivate the networks around our young people to achieve excellent standards of care and support.

This non case holding role will provide practical and emotional guidance to young people, parents and carers. The social worker working within the supporting CLA team will be directly responsible to the consultant social worker and will be expected to undertake interventions deemed more complex, with the support of the principal social worker.

The role of the social worker will be to support children and young people who are looked after, providing tailored interventions to help support change and maintain healthy relationships. They will also work with care experienced young people and their carers, supporting placement stability and preventing placements from breaking down. The role will include working directly with birth families and care experienced children, in order to safely transition young people from care to home.

Final Year Social Work Students

Those shortlisted for interview will be asked to confirm if they are applying for a Social Worker (GR11) or Experienced Social Worker (GR12) post prior to interview. Those applying for an Experienced Social Worker position will need to be prepared to provide evidence at interview of their registration with Social Care Wales and 3 years post-qualifying social work experience.

Protecting children and vulnerable adults is a core responsibility of all staff appointed to the Council.

In addition to this safeguarding responsibility, the successful applicant for this role will also be subject to an enhanced disclosure and barring service check.
