Enquiry Assessment Team (2 posts – 1 East & 1 West) – Ty Elai Offices, Williamstown.
Position Details
- Grade 11 (£42,839) – Entry Social Worker – registration with Social Care Wales required.
- Grade 12 (£46,142) – Experienced Social Worker – minimum of 3 years post‑qualifying experience and registration with Social Care Wales.
Role Overview
The Enquiry and Assessment Team accepts case responsibility from strategy discussions under s47 enquiries up to the Initial Child Protection Conference. Cases can also transfer via IAA Team recommendations of a proportionate assessment.
Key Responsibilities
- Case management from s47 enquiry to Initial Child Protection Conference.
- Work in partnership with families and support networks to reduce and manage risk and need.
- Produce medium‑term care plans and assist families through transition to care and support teams.
- Participate in regular supervision, peer mentoring and reflective sessions.
- Maintain professional standards and deliver continuous professional development.
- Build and maintain links with partner agencies.
- Manage a defined caseload and ensure statutory duties are met.
Qualifications and Experience
- Professional, recognised Social Work qualification.
- Registered as a Social Worker with Social Care Wales (or expected to register upon appointment).
- Experience in relevant discipline and knowledge of the Social Services and Wellbeing Act.
- Strong assessment, communication and planning skills.
- Commitment to anti‑oppressive practice.
- For Grade 12: at least 3 years post‑qualifying experience and current registration.
