Social Worker / Experienced Social Worker – Taf Ely Community Mental Health Team

One full‑time permanent post (Grade 11 – entry, Grade 12 – experienced) within the Taf Ely Community Mental Health Team, based at Dewi Sant Health Park, Albert Road, Pontypridd CF37 1LB.

Essential Qualifications & Registration

  • Recognised professional qualification in social work (degree, diploma or CQSW).
  • Registration with Social Care Wales.
  • Grade 12 candidates: minimum of three years post‑qualifying experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to assess the needs of individuals and carers.
  • Co‑produce and implement care and treatment plans and act as care co‑ordinator.
  • Ensure practice is consistent with key legislative requirements: Mental Health Measures Wales (2010), The Mental Health Act (1983) and the Mental Capacity Act (2005).
  • Apply principles of the Social Services and Well‑being (Wales) Act (2014).
  • Demonstrate commitment to a recovery‑based approach to social care delivery.

Professional Development & Support

Dedicated in‑house Learning and Development Centre, regular professional supervision, and opportunities for further qualifications such as CPEL and Approved Mental Health Professional. First‑year in practice peer‑support programme is available for new entrants.

Safeguarding

All staff have a core responsibility for protecting children and vulnerable adults and will undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
