One full‑time permanent post (Grade 11 – entry, Grade 12 – experienced) within the Taf Ely Community Mental Health Team, based at Dewi Sant Health Park, Albert Road, Pontypridd CF37 1LB.

Essential Qualifications & Registration

  • Recognised professional qualification in social work (degree, diploma or CQSW).
  • Registration with Social Care Wales.
  • Grade 12 candidates: minimum of three years post‑qualifying experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to assess the needs of individuals and carers.
  • Co‑produce and implement care and treatment plans and act as care co‑ordinator.
  • Ensure practice is consistent with key legislative requirements: Mental Health Measures Wales (2010), The Mental Health Act (1983) and the Mental Capacity Act (2005).
  • Apply principles of the Social Services and Well‑being (Wales) Act (2014).
  • Demonstrate commitment to a recovery‑based approach to social care delivery.

Professional Development & Support

  • Dedicated in‑house Learning and Development Centre, regular professional supervision, and opportunities for further qualifications such as CPEL and Approved Mental Health Professional.
  • First‑year in practice peer‑support programme is available for new entrants.

Safeguarding

All staff have a core responsibility for protecting children and vulnerable adults and will undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
