Job Description
An opportunity has arisen for the position of Senior Quantity Surveyor within the Contract Administration Team. We are looking for a self‑motivated and enthusiastic individual to become an integral part of the Contract Administration Team, responsible for delivering a wide range of civil projects throughout Rhondda Cynon Taf.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing bills of quantities, commercially assessing tenders, the financial and contractual management of projects, assessing CE’s, and preparing cost plans for grant bids. Additionally, you will procure services of consultants and contractors who will work on the project and track changes throughout the project and adjust budgets accordingly on a variety of projects throughout Rhondda Cynon Taf.
You must possess a Level 6 or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management or a relevant subject and a professional qualification such as MRICS, MCIOB, ICE or equivalent or provide a demonstration of working towards a professional qualification.
The permanent full‑time position is based at the Council’s newly constructed, modern headquarters in the centre of Pontypridd, benefiting from the services and facilities of the town centre, nearby public parking, and excellent public transport links to Cardiff and the surrounding Valleys area.
A hybrid working arrangement is in place with staff able to work from both home and the office, which is to continue in the long term. Employment hours are 37 hours a week, under the flexible working hours scheme, and our generous annual leave allowance will provide you with 26 days holiday each year increasing to 31 upon 5 years of completed service (in addition to 8 public holidays).
