What the Job Involves The role of Senior Engineer involves contributing to the development, implementation, and management of requirements under the Land Drainage Act 1991, Flood Risk Regulations 2009, and Flood and Water Management Act 2010. You will focus on ordinary watercourse consents, Land Drainage Bylaw Consents, and Sustainable Drainage Systems Approvals. This involves managing flood risk activities, developing Local Flood Risk Strategies, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Your tasks will range from supervising site investigations and projects, engaging in flood alleviation schemes, managing the Tip inspection programme, to fostering health and safety compliance. Further, you will respond to complaints and queries, engage in customer service, and uphold standards of professional expertise and development while supporting the Council’s efforts in climate change and carbon reduction initiatives.
